Apparently Halloween is now the UK’s second favourite celebration behind Christmas and is worth a massive £280m to the economy in retail sales alone.
I am sure quite a large chunk of that is generated here in dh – last year our doorbell rang 42 times on 31st October. Had to do an emergency sweetie run to Tesco’s twice!
Have you got your pumpkin yet? We’re carving ours with the toddler on Saturday whilst attempting to keep the tiddler out of reach (sharp knives? tick….accident prone adults? tick…excitable small boys? tick. Excellent). If not and you don’t fancy doing the job yourselves you could always go along to Morton’s on Sunday for family fun with lunch, pumpkin carving and fancy dress for the kids.
It’s not just Morton’s getting into the Halloween spirit. Perfect Party have this brilliant balloon dracula on sale (and loads of other ideas), Tesco’s are brim full of things to wear, eat or hand over to trick-or-treaters…and there are some scary Halloween offers at Heath Dental on teeth whitening if your fangs need a polish, click here for details.
Hope everyone going out trick or treating with their friends and families has a great night out. Our treat jar is ready and waiting!
