The bands are booked, bunting designed, banners up, bouncy castles arranged and competitions planned…Dickens Heath is ready to party!
Sunday 3rd June
3-8pm on the Village Green and Main Street
The Jubilee Picnic is free to attend. There will also be live bands, performances from local dance schools, a childrens’ disco, a visit from the Mayor and ITV presenter, a live broadcast by BBC WM, an Ice Princess competition and Perfect Party are kindly helping us to end in spectacular fashion with the release of hundreds of red, white and blue balloons!
If you dress in 1950s style or as a King or Queen you might win a prize!
On Main Street there will be face painting in Morton’s, Tesco are giving out cookies, Coffee Cloud will be delivering lunches, drinks and cakes to the Green to order and Ice Hair and Beauty are running an Ice Princess Competition (Pop into Ice Hair and Beauty to enter – only £1 per entry). The winner will be chosen on the main stage and will present the Lady Mayoress with a bouquet as her first responsibility as a Princess!
There will be tables and chairs set up on the green – but probably not enough for everyone so bring a picnic blanket if you have one – and if it’s really hot and sunny don’t forget sunscreen and hats.
If you can’t be faffed with organising a picnic, hot and cold food will be available on the Village Green and Main Street. Please note though that BBQs are not permitted on the Village Green.
Click here for a copy of the Jubilee Picnic poster – feel free to put one up in your window to help us promote the event!
The Jubilee committee (made up of village residents) and Parish Council look forward to seeing everyone there…
Can non residents attend.
Who’d know?
Hi
Yes, although it’s principally an event for villagers we know that some people are bringing friends and family with them. As long as you’re not planning on bringing a huge gang of 30+ from out of town we should have space for everyone!
