There will be a short act of Remembrance, outside the library on Sunday 11th November, starting just before 11am. Everyone is warmly invited to attend and to bring along any family or friends with them that weekend.
As in the last two years there will be a short service followed by a two-minute silence.
Last year almost 60 people from homes across the village, Dickens Heath Village Church, the school and businesses on the High Street joined in the service and it was a really moving and special occasion.
To allow the service to take place safely, for the period shortly before, during and immediately after the service there will be two temporary road closures:
- Hensborough (between Old Dickens Heath Road and Willowherb way)
- Old Dickens Heath Road (between Hensborough and Buckridge Lane)
Although the permission for the closures runs from 10.00-12.30, in reality the Parish Council believe they will only need to be in force for around half an hour.
The Parish Council need another couple of volunteers to man the barriers and also a qualified first aider. If anyone is available to help out for an hour could they please contact Helen Marczak, Clerk to the Parish Council on 07772 469271 or dickensheathpc@hotmail.com.
