Catesby Estates Limited has submitted a planning application for residential development for up to 130 homes on land adjacent to Dickens Heath Road, Rumbush Lane and Cleobury Lane following July’s public exhibition of the plans. 40% of the homes will be affordable housing.
The site has been identified by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council as a draft allocation (site 20) for 185 dwellings in the submitted Solihull Local Plan. If the local plan is approved the Council has committed itself to releasing the site from the Green Belt for development.
The plan also includes additional public open space, including a Youth Facility and financial contributions to education and health services.

The road infrastructure around Dickens Heath will not cater with another 260 cars on the assumption that each household will have at least 2 cars. The youths on Dickens Heath are becoming troublesome as the estate stands at this time as they get bored because there is nothing for them on the estate. Further properties would increase the problem. Dickens Heath was originally designed to be a small village that’s why people bought properties here if this planning is allowed then we will be heading for the size of Monkspath!!!!!!!!!!!
