Superfast broadband – Solihull launch event invitation 17th September 8.30am

September 6, 2013 By DH.net

CSW superfast broadband CSWBroadband, a partnership of eight local authorities including Solihull Council, has agreed a deal with BT to help deliver superfast fibre broadband (speeds of 24Mbps) to 91% homes and businesses in Solihull by Spring 2016.

The project will also help improve services to rural areas, with the roll out of a wholesale network to properties not reached by commercial providers, opening up competition and driving down prices for both local residents and businesses.

Solihull Council, along with CSW Broadband Project Partners are holding a Solihull Launch Event, providing an overview of the programme, with the opportunity to ask questions of the Project Team. the event is open to residents and businesses.

By attending this information session, you will hear from key speakers about:

–       An overview of the CSW Broadband project and what is happening in Solihull

–       How the project will improve services for residents and businesses

–       How you can get involved

This is good news but I find it amazing that parts of Dickens Heath currently cannot receive fibre broadband – it is not exactly rural!
