Looking for something fun to do this weekend? The Solihull Jazz Festival, now in its third year, returns this weekend (Saturday and Sunday) with more than than 23 performances by the likes of Ricky Cool and the In Crowd, Tipitina, the Jiveoholics, Bostin’ Brass and Becky Brine.
Don’t miss exclusive performances by the fabulous Joe Keegan and Kiki de Ville from BBC’s The Voice.
There will be family fun and entertainment across the weekend, as the town centre jumps and jives once again to the infectious, foot-tapping beats of some of the most talented jazz performers on the UK stage.
The annual Mardi Gras-style carnival parade through central Solihull is also set to return, at 11am on Saturday (24th) and will be even bigger than last year – filling the town centre with the colours, sights and sounds of a New Orleans-style carnival. This year the parade will feature more than 100 performers, children’s characters and live bands handing out treats for the young-of-age and the young-of-heart alike!
Other acts scheduled to appear include the always-brilliant Roy Forbes Quartet, a festival favourite; Al Jolson’s Dog; Alligator Gumbo; The Jake Leg Jug Band; The Broombusters; Millennium Eagle Jazz Band; The Indigo Kings and Florence Joelle.
