This was subject to consultation and, due to different views expressed in the consultation, a final decision by Solihull MBC Highway Services Division.
SMBC have decided that “The revised scheme will achieve a substantial improvement in pedestrian sight lines at an acceptable cost of only approximately £2,000. Therefore, an order will now be raised to allow these works to be undertaken in the current 2014/15 financial year. The scheme should result in an improvement in road safety for pedestrians.”
Dickens Heath Parish Council added today: ” The Parish Council made no recommendation to Solihull MBC, due to divided public opinion, and asked Highway Services to make the final decision based on their expertise of road safety.
“Now that the decision has been made on road safety grounds, the Parish Council wishes to draw this matter to a close and concentrate on other matters of concern to residents. Which will no doubt include the various other parts of the village where road safety is an issue.”
