We held the event with the permission of the receivers of Dickens Heath management company, who are the village green landlord. They required us to return the green to its original state by the following day. With hindsight it might have been more patriotic to leave the bunting for the entire holiday but not something that occurred to us when we were seeking the various permissions and meeting the health, safety and insurance requirements! The organising committee were pleased with support from the local businesses, grateful that the performers (all local volunteers and businesses) continued and of course thrilled that so many people attended in spite of the weather. The event was not in the format we would have liked but we managed to keep it going and most people seemed to be enjoying it despite their soggy state! Thanks to everyone for their support….
