Hi. As a tradesman (that works your area very often), I can’t understand why you put up with the traffic warden with the white corsa?
I understandem parking is an issue in your area, but the guy constantly tickets tradesman that are parking outside the law, but with everyone in mind when it comes to wheelchair and scooter access.
I saw him ticket someone this morning that parked on the pavement outside that chelsea (shop) place on the corner. The trader was working in an empty shop and was not in any body’s way but the warden just parked around the corner on the road that leads to Griffin road and peeked around the corner while writing out the ticket. The warden didn’t even ask him or enquire to the other traders around at the time.
I’ve been made aware of this guy by quite a few fellow tradesmen so I’m careful, but is this the kind of welcome you want to give tradesmen that work in your community? In a bad access area such as yours, you need to be asking the council what they are playing at with this guy, as he’s putting traders off wanting to work in the area.
I know guys that increase estimates to cover a parking ticket in dickens heath it’s got that bad.
I think you as residents need to voice this problem to the council urgently.
I understand the guy is ‘only doing his job’, but it’s making it impossible for us to do ours where only just a little common sensense is needed, not a trigger happy prostitute for faceless councillors that want to line their pockets with honest guys money.January 14, 2015 at 9:36 am #37033MikeGuest
I cannot comment on the tactics employed that you have witnessed, but parking enforcement is a necessary evil in Dickens Heath. prior to the restrictions it was a free for all.
You may not be aware, but you are actually able to contact Solihull Parking services to request a parking permit which allows tradesmen to park for the duration of their work. I have obtained permits on behalf of tradesmen working in my property.
There is no cost for the permits.
